How quickly must vehicles be added?

Vehicles must be added within 14 days of owning them, but we recommend adding them immediately to prevent being stopped by the police.

When will the vehicle appear on the MID?

Information is sent from our system to the MID overnight, therefore it can take 24 hrs for a vehicle to show on the MID, or 48 hrs if processed over a weekend.

SORN vehicles

Untaxed or stock vehicles which are kept off the public road and registered SORN do not need to be notified to the MID. However, for insurance purposes and to fully protect our policyholders, we recommend that all owned vehicles in your possession are added to the MID.

Vehicles should be removed as soon as possible; failure to do so could lead to a claim being reported against the policy and affect the premium and No Claims Discount.

Need to delete a vehicle that has been added in error?

Unfortunately it is not possible to delete a vehicle. If the registration number was added incorrectly, please contact your broker for further assistance.

Need to move a private registration to another vehicle?

Click ‘Sold’ to remove the registration from the list, then ‘Add New Vehicle’ to add the registration back on with its new make/model.
